
Why should I join?
The CNAA works closely with its members and St Albans City and District Council to maintain and improve facilities across the allotment sites. We also aim to provide a strong, united voice for plot holders in our discussions with the council.

What are the benefits of joining?
We offer a range of benefits to our members and organise a variety of social activities throughout the year.
Family membership costs £10 per year.
- Public liability insurance covering accidents involving members of the public on your plot
- Our quarterly newsletter, Dig It!, packed with association news, interesting articles and practical tips to help you get the most from your plot
- Organised visits to RHS gardens through the CNAA’s affiliation with the Royal Horticultural Society
- Membership of the National Allotment Society, normally costing £23, including access to its regular magazine and specialist insurance offers
- Plant swaps and other social events
- Our annual Summer Show, held every September, with prizes awarded across a range of categories
- The CNAA Annual General Meeting, held each spring
- A seed-ordering scheme offering high-quality seeds at substantial discounts, often around half the usual retail price
- Bulk ordering of manure and mushroom compost in autumn, delivered directly to your plot
- Use of communal sheds where available, subject to a key deposit
- Discounts at Ayletts Garden Centre on selected days
