George Bennett – 1st January 1925 to 10th August 2009 It
is with great regret that we have to report the death of George who
died suddenly on Monday 10th August. George was a life member and
founder member of the Association. He used to cultivate plot 5 on the Cottonmill allotments. The funeral was on Monday 24th August at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church, Marlborough Road and he was buried afterwards at the London Road Cemetery. He will be remembered for his kindness and his interest in everything whether it was a cultivation matter or general chat. He was often to be seen having a cuppa with John Boden after giving up his allotment. He was also a keen singer with the Radlett Choral Society. He will be sorely missed by us all.
